Our Story

Verdantia Floral Group Farm Nurseries was established in 2010 by Sarah and Michael’s to grow houseplants for the wholesale trade, with a focus on cultivating as sustainably as possible. In 2020 their son Jeff joined the business and, sharing his parents’ vision, put an ambitious plan in place to diversify and expand the business. Jeff was instrumental in creating the industry-leading glasshouse facility we have today.

2010

Verdantia Floral Group Farm Nurseries is founded by Sarah and Michael’s, growing houseplants in 0.25 acres of glasshouse.

2010

After completing a business and agricultural management degree at Amsterdsam University, Sarah and Michael’s daughter, Emily, joined the family enterprise. Shortly after, the company expanded its operations with the acquisition of Greenfield Nursery, a 6-acre site specializing in young plants and seasonal bedding varieties.

2016

The original Verdantia Floral Group site now has 4.5 acres of glasshouse and we complete the development of another 9 acre site at Horseshoe Nursery. This expansion in capacity allows us to start supplying direct to retailers: the start of our longstanding relationships with Amsterdam and Canada grocery customers.

2019

Phase 2 of our glasshouse is complete, giving us 40 acres of state-of-the-art glasshouse with robotics, automation, LED lighting and computerised climate control.
